Introduction- Who am I?
Hello there!
Join the digital economy conversation right now and follow along with me on my journey where I discover more about the digital economy.
Firstly, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Rachel and I am currently a student in my fourth year of third level education and what an amazing four years it has been.
My journey has been nothing short of phenomenal as I was provided with the opportunity to undertake my work placement in BNY Mellon, which is an investment company and on of the largest custodian banks for six months and meet some incredible people and well as some life long friends throughout the years. I also currently work part-time in my local shop, where I have been fir the last two years.
On this blog I will be sharing my thoughts, learning and experiences regarding the digital economy and the impact it has in organisations and individuals.
So where have I experienced the impact of the digital economy before?
In both my work placement and my part time job, I experienced the use and the impact of the digital economy, whether it be the use of social media to make customers aware of new stock that was present in the shop or the use of video conferencing that I used frequently in BNY Mellon.
In BNY Mellon, I quickly realised the impact that the digital economy possesses. For example, without the digital economy and various information systems it would not have been possible for me to work remotely two days a week. The digital economy allowed me to access all the necessary platforms such as Microsoft Teams and online training courses, which enabled me to share information, collaborate with colleagues without being physically present and progress my knowledge within the company.
So, there you have it for now!
I hope you benefit from my writing and watch out for my upcoming posts.
Rachel
