The Successful use of Enterprise Applications by 3 companies

Hi Everyone,

I hope you all found my last blog insightful and valuable.

This weeks blog is about how three companies successfully implemented enterprise applications and how the ERP system helped and benefited their company.

Amazon, Coca Cola and Starbucks have all implemented an ERP system that has contributed to the overall efficiency and productivity of their companies.

Amazon

Amazons focuses on e-commerce as there business model and it is one of the largest internet company in the Republic of Ireland according to Market91.

Amazon implemented SAP in 2008 through AWS Data provider and it has greatly changed their efficiency and productivity.

Amazons business strategy is focused on three value propositions according to Jeff Bezos; provide low price, fast delivery and a wide selection of products.

Since implementing SAP, many benefits have arose for Amazon (Piris Capital, 2023):

  1. They have improved customer service as there is better on-time delivery and rapid responses.
  2. They have increased security as the data is now stored on many layers and different clouds.

Coca Cola

Coca Cola's business model is primarily focused on producing, marketing and distributing beverages and also through a franchising system, where they licence their brand and products to other companies (Business Model Analyst, 2019).

Their business strategy is to create a brand that people love and to maintain a wide distribution network, they also want to 'Refresh the World. Make a Difference' (The Coco Cola Company, 2023).

Coca Cola has implemented SAP into the company to positively impact all aspects of the company from warehousing to deliver and payment (The Coco Cola Company, 2023).  CONA Services provided Coca Cola with this tool to aid efficiency within Coca Cola.

SAP has resulted in many benefits for Coca Cola (Forbes, 2023):

  1. It has positively impacted their supply chain management as it enables them to react quickly and resolve supply chain issues.
  2. It has improved negotiating and purchasing functions.

Starbucks

Starbucks business model is based around providing high quality coffee and other beverages along with food items and merchandise, and it has distinguished itself by using dark roasted coffee beans (Market 91, 2023).

Starbucks aims to offer its customers a unique and creative experience especially with it's modern cup design, digital content and their app.

Starbucks uses the ERP system Oracle, which has transformed their employees and delighted their customers (Oracle, 2023). Oracle is a cloud based software solution that is used be Starbucks to automate back-office processes and daily business activities (People Managing People, 2023).

By using Oracle as their ERP system, Starbucks have benefitted greatly (Know Companies, 2023):

  1. Integration of the online experience into stores: Oracle allows Starbucks to create online and offline personalised profiles of their customers..
  2. Mobile Integration: Customers are able to order their drinks online and simply collect them at the store.

I hope you all enjoy this weeks post!
